Yin Yoga is a great counterpoint to more aerobic yoga styles, and suitable for all levels. Through long-held, sustained floor poses and focused breath, Yin Yoga affects joints by increasing lubrication and range of motion, and bone density through evenly held weight-bearing. Yoga philosophy is sometimes verbally incorporated during the sustained quietude, stillness, and surrender. Level I - No experience necessary. Level II - Previous yoga experience or full range of mobility.

Equipment Required

You will need your yoga mat, or simply a blanket on the floor to lie on. Two yoga blocks are helpful. A firm blanket to sit on or to roll under your knees during shavasana feels lovely.
