Yin Yoga is a slow paced class consisting of long-held floor postures. We always begin with centering. Then, we hold a series of postures. Each posture is held for up to five minutes. Class may end with restorative and always rest. This class is appropriate for anyone wanting to go deeper into stillness, have more flexibility in the body and learn about your emotions stored in the body. It is "beginner" in a sense that I will give you detailed cues, variations and explanations. It is "advanced" in a sense that you will need to discern the safest positioning for your body without a teacher's guidance. We will have time in the warm down room after class for any questions that arise. Props you may need during class: mat (sub: rug, towel), blocks (sub: heavy books and/or sturdy shoe box), bolster (sub: pillows), strap (sub: belt or scarf), blankets
